The album ‘So Far’ from songwriter and vocalist Ego Ella May follows her signing to the label last year, the album has been announced with ‘Tea & Sympathy’, the lead track, released today.
An anthology of everything she has recorded in her career ‘So Far’ sees Ego Ella May exploring the importance of honesty and speaking from the heart. The lead track “Tea & Sympathy” highlights Ego Ella May’s seductive future-soul vocals, intertwined with smooth hip-hop beats and flawless electronic production from Wu-Lu and Budgie.
Hailing from South London, Ego Ella May has an all-encompassing love of music, which she channels into her own neo-soul and contemporary jazz compositions; “music is freeing, healing and all things good and I’m here for it” she says. Her incandescent sound has gained support from the likes of Gilles Peterson (BBC 6Music) – who included Ego in his ‘School of 2019’ radio show – Mary Anne Hobbs (BBC 6Music), Jamz Supernova (BBC 1Xtra), Bradley Zero, Chris P Cuts and across Worldwide FM.
