Behind Mangataot is Marc Clayton. An obsession with Indian tabla grew to form a focal point for much of the Mangataot sound, lending the music an Asian flavour at times.
Read moreThroughout 2002 and 2003, Tru Thoughts released Mangataot tracks on several compilations and in August 2003, released the first Mangataot EP.
Recently some tracks have featured the stunningly tranquil and enchanting vocals of the hardest working woman in folk music, Martha Tilston. Her voice is the perfect complement to Marc’s precise instrumentation and production values.
