New Tru Thoughts signing Bazaazal channels the cosmos on ‘Computer Love’ and ‘Peace & Love’

Producer, composer and storyteller Bazaazal creates spiritual soundscapes that merge the cosmic, the electronic and the eternal – with the music unfolding as both an exploration and an offering. Influences range from the expansiveness of Black music; inspiration comes from Bach, John Coltrane and Joni Mitchell to the raw cry of punk, and the hum of the universe itself. “Everything vibrates, including thoughts and emotions – nothing is truly still,” Bazaazal explains. “Different frequencies unlock different thought patterns. Sound is creation itself.” The result is music that feels electronic and alive.

Exploring intimacy in the digital age, ‘Computer Love’ meditates on longing and connection across circuits and screens. Built around a resonant bassline, the song grew organically: “If the bass line didn’t resonate with me, I wouldn’t proceed. When it did, I continued.” Lyrics arrive as truth rather than invention, while the stripped-back production underscores how technology cannot erase humanity: “Even through circuits and screens, emotion is real.”

‘Peace & Love’ serves as both reminder and warning, directed at humanity as “the most destructive species in the universe,” yet still capable of oneness. At the centre of existence, Bazaazal argues, is love. “People ask about the meaning of life, but life has no set meaning. It is for us to give life meaning, and the focus of that, for me, is love.” Musically, the track draws on free jazz traditions with live drums, inspired by Pharoah Sanders and Sun Ra, it remains deeply personal yet expansive.
