Rebecca Vasmant

Renowned as a musician, producer, DJ, and curator hailing from Glasgow, Rebecca Vasmant stands as a leading figure in the city’s vibrant jazz scene. Balancing her roles in event promotions, running a record fair, maintaining an active touring schedule and launching her own label, she epitomises the vibrant energy of Glasgow’s musical landscape, earning her a Scottish Music Award for her contributions. Notably, she embarked on a six-month tour with the renowned, eight-strong Ghanaian group Kakatsitsi, all while hosting a monthly radio show on Worldwide FM and developing her new live project featuring world class musicians, including talents from The Scottish National Jazz Orchestra.

Rebecca’s debut album ‘With Love From Glasgow’ was released on her own label, Rebecca‘s Records, demonstrating that her talents are not only in spinning records, but in composing, and producing and in live shows also. Continuing to channel her love for jazz and broken beat, Rebecca released her ‘Dance Yourself Free’ EP on Tru Thoughts in 2023.

As a huge jazz fan, she airs this facet of her irrepressible musical passion at key events like Worldwide Festival Sete, Glasgow Jazz Festival, Glastonbury, EFG London Jazz Festival, We Out Here, Jazz Cafe in London, Kasheme in Zurich, Brilliant Corners, Casper in Montenegro and the Baltic Soul Weekender, at Ronnie Scott’s as part of the ‘Panro’ collective and many many more.
