Melbourne-based, multi-hyphenate Lance Ferguson returns with a rich reinterpretation of Billie Eilish’s 2020 hit “My Future”, featuring the powerhouse vocals of Rita Satch. The new single offers another glimpse into Lance’s forthcoming album ‘Rare Groove Spectrum, Vol. 3’, out on Friday 21st November.

Bringing a sultry, 1970s Soul aesthetic to Eilish’s introspective pop ballad, Lance blends live instrumentation and lush harmonic layers with Rita Satch’s compelling vocal delivery, creating a version that’s both reverent and strikingly original.

“Billie Eilish’s ‘My Future’ is a great example of a contemporary Pop tune that has real harmonic interest – it’s almost like a modern Jazz standard,” Lance explains. “I had messed around with this a while ago as a guitar instrumental but I felt it would really shine on this record with Rita Satch on vocals… She really makes the song her own, it’s an incredible performance.” – Lance Ferguson
