Amsterdam-based duo Norah Jane & MOR.LOV continue to carve out their own lane with the release of their double single “There Is No Greater Love / Focus feat. Razeen”, the latest glimpse of their forthcoming album Godspeed. Following the smoky introspection of “Distracted”, these two new tracks reveal the duo’s gift for pairing emotional depth with restraint, creating music that breathes and captures fleeting moments of honesty.

“There Is No Greater Love” opens the pair’s world with a soft ache. A song of reflection and release unfolds through Norah’s disarmingly direct lyrics and quietly assured delivery. “It felt really heavy and kind of depressing when I wrote it,” she says. “But now it feels almost funny, like looking back at something with a new perspective. Writing and listening to it over time really helped me understand the situation.” The track came together naturally in the studio, built around a simple drum pattern that MOR.LOV had been experimenting with. When Norah picked up an acoustic guitar and began playing a delicate melody, MOR.LOV hit record and captured the take in one go. He later layered and textured her performance, preserving the intimacy and character of the original recording. “My favourite part is Norah’s closing refrain singing ‘what I feel for you’ in the background of the outro”. The result is a tender and unguarded moment between the two artists.

Its companion piece, “Focus”, featuring Amsterdam-based artist Razeen, moves in a brighter direction. What began as a throwaway studio idea became one of Godspeed’s most effortless moments. “I was annoyed with myself, probably because I couldn’t find the words or something,” Norah recalls. “I quickly recorded this before going home and completely forgot about it until MOR.LOV sent it to me saying he really liked it.” MOR.LOV instinctively captured and developed Norah’s improvised vocals, her off-the-cuff line, ‘I cannot find my focus,’ was, as he puts it, “too good not to use.” From there, the track expanded into a fluid collaboration with Razeen. “He delivered like he always does,” says MOR.LOV. “It’s a lovely track and really fun to play live together. During our performance at the Merode in Brussels, it really felt like family on stage.” “I love playing this live with Razeen,” Norah adds. “It just feels so sweet and simple.” 

“There Is No Greater Love” and “Focus” set the tone for Godspeed, an album rooted in stillness and sincerity, but alive with movement and texture. The album gathers sixteen songs that chart Norah and MOR.LOV’s evolving sound. For Norah, who has been writing and experimenting since childhood, music has always been a form of self-understanding. For MOR.LOV, production is a process of translation, helping ideas find their shape in sound. Together, they build worlds that are both deeply personal and quietly expansive, their chemistry audible in every note.
