London-based producer, DJ, and multi-instrumentalist Oliver Night draws deeply from the rich veins of bruk, soul, house, and hip hop with the announcement of his new album ‘Between The Lines’. As a first taste, he drops three new tracks: “Friends”, the only track set to appear on the album, plus two bonus cuts, “The Light” and “Something In The Air”, all featuring the magnetic pull of KAYA FYAH. Brimming with rhythmic complexity, soulful textures, and a fearless creative spirit, the release reflects Oliver’s deep-rooted connection to the UK’s underground music scene.

Following the release of his Tru Thoughts debut double single “Run Like The River feat. TREV” and “Reach Out”, these latest tracks spotlight vocals from the inimitable KAYA FYAH – a true torchbearer of the junglist community and a storyteller at heart. Her musical journey began at just 13 alongside jungle pioneer Congo Natty. Today, she fuses singing, songwriting, and MCing with an intuitive ability to uplift and unify. “She just has this ability to bring tracks to life in a way that only she can,” says Oliver. Their shared musical lineage and love for African-influenced sounds made her the ideal collaborator for this project.

“Friends feat. KAYA FYAH” is rooted in the spark of a chance encounter – that feeling of meeting someone and instantly wanting to see them again. Drawing on Afro-inspired rhythms and percussive layers, Oliver crafted a track that feels both grounded and euphoric, anchored by KAYA’s vocal delivery. “My favourite part is the way the chords resolve with KAYA’s vocal,” he says.

If “Friends” celebrates connection, “The Light” channels something more introspective. Oliver wanted to create a piece with a stripped-back, broken-beat framework, giving KAYA’s voice the space to shine. She stepped into the track with effortless precision, bringing a unique vitality that makes the arrangement glow.

“Something In The Air” is a bruk-meets-soulful-afro-house exploration that feels like it was born for late-night dancefloors. The origins of the track are as spontaneous as its energy suggests: “I met KAYA on a night out with my good friend Mighty Moe, and we ended up starting a track together,” Oliver recalls. “It actually took me a few years to pin her down to finish it, but it was more than worth it – we came out with amazing tracks together.”
