Oliver Night unveils the release of three new tracks: “It’s Alright” feat. Megatronic, “Undefeated” feat. Goldbar, and bonus cut “Woman In The Kitchen” feat. Prima. The release lands ahead of his forthcoming debut album ‘Between The Lines’, offering another rich, groove-heavy glimpse into Oliver’s soulful, broken beat universe.
Following on from his first two Tru Thoughts releases – the double single “Run Like The River ft. TREV / Reach Out” and the KAYA FYAH collaboration bundle “Friends” / “The Light” / “Something In The Air” – this new offering expands the scope of Oliver’s sound, drawing deeply from jazz, gospel, and soul, while rooted in the rhythmic language of the UK underground.
Bebop, jazzy, broken beat track, “It’s Alright” featuring the vocals of DJ, producer, and songwriter Megatronic, is a joyful, love-at-first-sight anthem bursting with emotions, from tears to fears, all encapsulated in a whirlwind of excitement.“The synergy between the music, groove, and Megatronic’s vocals just clicked,” says Oliver. “I’m especially proud of the drum programming I did.” A standout flute performance from Tito brings a vibrant, human warmth to the track’s soulful energy.
“Undefeated” features West London producer and musician, Goldbar. The broken beat stepper is about staying grounded, and moving with purpose, while still clocking the wonders around us. Goldbar laid down the beat with Phoebe (who co-wrote the topline alongside Oliver), delivering a vocal line that cuts right through.
Rounding out the release is “Woman In The Kitchen” featuring fellow artist Prima, a bonus cut that leans into Oliver’s knack for collaboration, and leftfield sonics. Raw, rhythmic, and understated, it’s a testament to the breadth of his musical palette.
