“All About Life” is the latest single from Bryony Jarman-Pinto, taken from her forthcoming debut album ‘Cage and Aviary’ (out 16th August). Set against the current climate of political unease and increased tensions in society, the fiercely powerful “All About Life” was written by Jarman-Pinto as a source of comfort; “there was a lot of negative news about immigration and tension in society,” she explains “I’d say I wrote it to reassure myself.”
“All About Life” was written alongside Tom Leah AKA Werkha, with the lyrics stemming from a conversation the pair had during a recording session. “Tom was chatting about social issues giving inspiration to get us going in a writing session, we were both feeling dismay over the growing levels of racism”, Jarman-Pinto notes. “The lyrics were written while we were listening to a track Tom had put together. I think the introduction is great on this track, bold with just drums and voice”.
The release follows lead tracks “As I’ve Heard”, “Saffron Yellow” and “Sun Kissed” which received upfront support from the likes of Lauren Laverne (BBC 6Music), Jamie Cullum (BBC Radio 2), Huw Stephens (BBC Radio 1), Jamz Supernova (BBC 1Xtra), Tony Minvielle (Jazz FM) and Robert Elms (BBC Radio London).
