Alice Russell receives two remixes by long-time collaborator and bandmate TM Juke, who completely flips “I Am” and “Gravity” – taking them on a “twisted, darker, more experimental journey.” Both tracks remixed are taken from Alice Russell’s revelatory new album ‘I Am’, which has been praised by Clash, Gilles Peterson (BBC 6Music), Jamie Cullum (BBC Radio 2) and across Jazz FM as Album of the Week.

Expertly combining the benefits of a comprehensive musical education with his reactionary love of laptop-based music, TM Juke (aka Alex Cowan) has established himself as a prodigious songwriter and arranger, a broadminded and captivating DJ and an exceptionally talented producer. Alex Cowan brings his TM Juke alias back to the forefront with his first release since TM Juke & The Jack Baker Trio – ‘Boto And The Second Liners’ in 2008. TM Juke’s debut album ‘Maps From The Wilderness’ has become a Tru Thoughts staple, with the single “Just for a Day – Sunday” becoming a cult classic amongst fans.

Vulnerable and bold, Alice Russell’s new album ‘I Am’ addresses how we must all work on ourselves to heal – so that we can love and connect with those and the world around us more honestly and deeply. ‘I Am’ is named after the titular and thematic track and is a song that allowed Alice to articulate something that she had long felt but hadn’t fully understood.
