Ahead of the release of his forthcoming album 142 Grime Street, South London’s Crafty 893 unveils Let it Go (Remix) feat. JME, Logan_olm & Shorty, a heavyweight link-up featuring Boy Better Know icons JME and Shorty alongside one of the UK’s most exciting talents, Logan_olm.

Bringing together artists from different generations of the UK underground, the track is built around the simple objective of creating the kind of grime record that demands a reaction, whether through headphones, on radio or in the middle of a packed rave.

Serving as the focus track from Crafty’s forthcoming album 142 Grime Street, Let it Go (Remix) showcases one of the project’s central themes: a deep respect for grime’s foundations combined with an eagerness to bring new voices and perspectives into the conversation. The result is a track that feels rooted in the culture while sounding entirely current.

“Let It Go was literally created because I felt like I needed a grime rave song. Something to get people jumping. That’s why the chorus is trying to incorporate everyone into it. I wrote it with this in mind but I felt the second half of it definitely needed a Jamaican twang. I had to get Logan involved because he’s killing it right now and he didn’t disappoint at all. JME and Shorty heard the original in a session and I floated the idea of a remix. I think it took us about 30 minutes to take it up a level.” Crafty 893

Playing on the long-standing notion of “140 Grime Street” as grime’s symbolic home, a nod to Kano’s eponymous album and the prevalence of 140 BPM used in the genre, the album sees Crafty positioning himself as a close neighbour to the scene; connected to its roots but never confined by expectation.
